The Art and Science of Respect a Memoir by James Prince Free Download
Struggle for what yous want. This whole memoir was fantastic. I didn't know a lot about James Prince other than the fact that he'south an OG, acme domestic dog in the music and boxing industry - only I learned a lot almost him and it was enlightening. Ironically, he reminds me a lot of my dad; wise words and so much heart. I institute this whole volume incredibly inspiring and true af. If you want respect you lot have to get out there and work for it, you lot have to earn it and you have to treat people with the same level of respect they treat you with. That's how you build practiced relationships. That's how you build a skilful business. James Prince had an incredibly good personal story as well; what a time - to grow up for so many years and exist misled about your own father until one day you're like dude, why exercise all these other people expect like me at a family part, in your teenage years. Information technology'south wild. At that place's so much importance behind knowing yourself and where yous came from and the kind of stock you're fabricated up of. You can tell that James Prince is a legendary wild bill of fare besides. I don't know if I actually believed the whole "I travelled with my pastor to meet with people" rhetoric etc.. dude! is "pastor" code switching for "he rolls with god, just will withal set if off" because it certain sounds similar information technology! I respect that he never took the abiding assail from the DEA laying down. Sometimes even if it seems like something is too big to challenge, y'all all the same take to challenge information technology. Particularly for the practiced of all people like you, doing what you're doing, from your area. Information technology shows them that they don't have to take it. Which is disquisitional and can mean life or death. Fight for your life and freedom by whatever means necessary. James Prince ain't Malcolm, just that's some Malcolm shit - and fifty-fifty Malcolm wasn't MALCOLM when he start started out. All in all - this was a five-star memoir past one of rap'south legendary influencers and sponsors of the culture. I liked the intro by Drake - it was a overnice touch and just set up the tone for the immature folks who may not have lived the struggles that James Prince has talked near but likes to act like they have. Every word hither felt authentic. Struggle for what you desire. Never take no for an answer. Don't surrender on yourself. felt like the major takeaways. I respect that.
Never take no for an answer.
Don't surrender on yourself.
Solid book! This book felt more like a drove of anecdotes that centered on finding respect in dissimilar spaces, than a memoir. Loved hearing his story, regardless.
Really inspirational. Loved the handwritten TODO lists. James Prince is a boss
Living in Houston, you tend to hear a lot about the guys who really set the city on fire over the years. J Prince is without a doubt one of those guys they talk about even far across his prime. J puts a lot into perspective in this project, really diving into some of the social issues that plagued his community and even so affecting our blackness communities today. I've never gotten the chance to meet him face to face but I have shared the same space as ane of his heirs in Houston and you can tell he lives by every word he preaches. His sons' hustle is cogitating of that as well. He's a genius in many ways and continues to pay it forrard spiritually, mentally, physically and even sometimes emotionally. This book is living proof that he's been doing it "for the civilization" as many seem to preach nearly nowadays. A true mastermind and man of affairs who got it "out the mud". Love reading bios like these because you dive into the reasons why everyone ever fell in love with people like J Prince and the Prince heirs. Houston'south rap scene wouldn't be the same without J and he knows that and shows information technology in every give-and-take in this book. His expertise extends far across what this book covers, touching the lives and careers of some of the industry'south about prominent names, such as Drake. Drake shows that gratitude every chance he gets. This work inspired me to read more than works surrounding today'due south rappers and entertainers. Someday we'll see on a literary note, but until then...keep the hustle alive King!
The Art and Science of Respect is role critical memoir, part hip hop history lesson, and all life lessons that benefit every reader. The book begins with a traumatic upshot that makes yous want to journey with James to see how he is able to use some of his experiences growing up in poverty and amidst violence, to make his mark on the world. It also features his walk with God. I was very moved by many of his early life experiences but I was truly captivated by how he used a mix of religious faith, hustler canny, and advice taken from books he read along the way to guide his rise to incredible wealth and fame. A cracking book that tin can help someone rediscover the habit of reading. Plus there are a few moments when my mouth dropped open and I looked around for someone to talk about this book with!
I'chiliad from Houston and I grew up in the neighborhood side by side to the 5th Ward (Trinity Garden). J. Prince is a few years older than me so of course we all heard the rumors and street fables of what he was up to throughout the years. This book was life changing for me because like nearly street gossip, only 60% of what people were saying was truthful. J points out in the book the moments and mentality behind his actions that made me see him in a whole different low-cal. He's a Houston hero, just like all true hero'southward, there'due south no red capes and information technology own't always pretty scenes with the triumph music playing in the back ground. When you changing your life and the lives of others information technology gets ugly and roughshod. J don't hibernate any of that in this book. Nice work Prince and Mrs. Waters.
I learned alot! I purchased this volume for my son so that he could read information technology on the Kindle Fire I gave him. My son requested this volume. I read the first folio past mistake and could not and did not put information technology down until I completed it. Did I say I'yard 65 years old and never accept been that interested in nearly rap. I do take some thought of who a few of these people were in the book because of my children, nieces, nephews and the media. J. Prince was not one of those that I knew. I do Now! I totally look at his world and the industry differently now. Thank you Mr. Prince for sharing your life with me and helping me realize some of the immature and not so young out there. My son could non believe I read this book. I'm so glad I did!!
Give this man his respect nahmean
Damn J.Prince is that dude this dude and the notorious stories virtually him Ever fascinated me. Old school actor with that LONNNNNNNGGGGGG coin.... He really put his thoughts out with this one. His trials and his INSPIRING triumphs. Yep he's not to be f*cked with simply also he has a proficient heart who helps out his own I wouldn't mind having him as my mentor. Information technology'south pitiful how people tried to go over on him and strength his hand.... Birdman is notorious for not paying up but he paid this n*gga here. Cash Money even played Jas Prince only J Prince got that fixed existent fast. This book was merely a glimpse I wouldn't mind a rap alot series, because J prince left me wanting more... I reccomend this book to anyone who wants to be inspired, closer to god, and one footstep ahead.
This book was great. This has been by far the nearly inspiring bio of a black entrepreneur that I've ever read. For alot of people who grow up in poverty it'due south a daily wish to reach and experience a better life. J. Prince is a walking attestation of what tin can happen if you utilise a plan, centre, loyalty and commitment into your life. After reading his story he's truly placed himself in my opinion as one of the greatest business organization minds the world has ever seen! Only he'southward an fifty-fifty greater humanitarian that gives back to the customs and helps others. The man is a straight upwards Boss...from the time he was a little kid all the way upward until at present!! Much respect J. Prince you a Existent one!!!
I was afraid to open up upwardly to the first page based off of stories I've previously heard about him BUT... I enjoyed reading more than most him and grew to appreciate the book. Reading nigh how he came to be the homo that he is now was very interesting. This dude is street smart only he's also worked his way up the corporate ladder also. He knows his stuff!!! A wise, genius of a man that will become to hell and back for those that he is able to trust. Yous'll larn a few things that he has implemented to better himself. At that place are stories that you'll recall and volition desire to acquire more about afterward you get washed reading. Salute to J. Prince. ππΎ
Equally real every bit it gets I beloved the fact that this book is not a series of boastful anecdotes, but a true breakdown of the trials and tribulations on the route to success. Furthermore, the fact that J. Prince comes from the environment that myself and many others come up from shows that with organized religion, hard work and dedication success is possible. Gild may accept written him off and fifty-fifty tried to hinder his progress considering of the color of his pare and the wealth and power he amassed was and is a beacon to many young brothers in the world, merely he never stopped swinging.
Existence a fifth ward native,I was already familiar with the Legend that is J. Prince. But actually listening to the audiobook and gaining so much knowledge gave me a brand new respect for him. Don't go me wrong the respect has ever been in that location but I am now at an age where I can appreciate the knowledge he is sharing. And hearing it in his own phonation makes it that more special. If you want to learn some slap-up life lessons or just the fine art and science of respect in general, this is a definite must read.Salute to a local legend! ✊πΎ
He definitely opened upward about the struggles in the urban community. Information technology was very empowering to see how a young, black human comes upwardly and never takes no for an reply. Reading this book came at a pivotal point for me being that I am young and still finding myself. I have so many ideas that float in my head and I always doubt that they'll become anywhere but my head. I am my biggest critic but I can no longer be my own rejection. Existence a Houston native, reading this book made my very proud. Definitely will be the 1st at the theatre when a movie drops. Great read!
Peachy and inspiring book I grew upwards in poverty in the hood just like j prince but not in Houston instead Miami just regardless of what urban center in America y'all are from poverty is but poverty, it sucks and it is truly depressing ! And to see how he made it out and never forget those nevertheless struggling and gave back too many from his neighborhood a 2d adventure at life should be an inspiration for many others.
Decent I gave this book iii out five stars because in my opinion it wasn't a true biography. Information technology was more than like a volume filled with major fundamental stories from his life. One minute he's 34 the next he'south 11 the next he's 23. It was more than business than personal. And I expect more than personal in a biography. I volition say his faith carried him through and helped him in a lot of business situations. Because he honestly doesn't seem like a skillful business man. People but fear him.
Succinct and to the bespeak with many of his examples. He didn't delve too deep into some for obvious reasons but his points were made quickly enough to reveal his strategy and issue. I really would requite information technology a iv.five. It was a very light read and enjoyable throughout because of the number of significant figures involved in his life simply I won't share which so it's a surprise just it was dainty going to youtube to confirm them irl
J Prince Delievers! This volume was an amazing reading. Growing upwards, I looked upwardly to J Prince every bit a smart business man. He allowed me to see that I could ascension upwards from my apprehensive beginnings and accomplish greatness. Reading this volume sparked many memories in my life. For anyone looking for a positive uplifting book, this is it!
a adept read most how a homo uses his resources and skills to ameliorate not just his life but the lives of his friends and family. He teaches applicable business practices to ensure that everyone who reads his book leaves inspired and able to attain the aforementioned success. It'due south too a good look into how Hip Hop was changed by the movement in the South. James Prince is a legend and OG for a reason.
Admittedly amazing.... A truthful attestation of how religion, dear, loyalty and respect would put you in a position to attain things beyond your wildest dreams. This book was the missing ingredients for me to stride upwardly and lead my immediate family with the objective to bring us all back together again. I recommend this book to those who have the same ambition. Cheers Mr. Prince!
This was an interesting read. Agreement what brought success for J Prince was worth the book, even though parts come beyond every bit disjointed or a little defensive. In particular, his stories most embracing family and being determined to exist successful are most interesting. Stay with it for the to-do lists at the back, it's clear Prince was focused on making himself a success.
I enjoyed this volume! This was written in a very relatable manner. I could understand the honesty and appreciated the wisdom in his delivery. It was practiced to read about his strong connections to religion, family and creating a legacy through hard piece of work & respect. I would definitely recommend this volume to others, skillful lessons throughout.
The book was enlightening and inspiring. At times the stories didn't experience chronological but it was astonishing to go a glimpse into how James Prince became James Prince. The book felt personal at times and he had some slap-up stories on Pimp C, Floyd Mayweather, Larry Hoover, Master P etc. I completely agree with his thought of respect.
Must read for everyone This volume changed my life
Information technology's making me appreciate my struggles. Those fabricated by circumstances and those fabricated by my ain choices.
This book shows that you really don't know who you lot are until you are in thick of things.
It's and then easy to become lost in life but this books shows you exactly what you should base of operations your foundations on to keep steady.
I dear hip hop and black culture peculiarly in America, reading this book fun and educative, I really like real life experiences of black Americans, I never heard of James Prince before I read this but thanks to time taken out to write this, I can share this the story including lessons with more than people
